Bette Davis: A Little Blood

Interview with Bette Davis

I have always operated under the belief that everything was about to end--my present job, my entire career. There has been dread around every corner, and I feel I have to fight it. I feel that I have to elevate the work and my fellow workers, and I think--I know--that a lot of people can't imagine that everything will end. Well, I always knew the time was coming when I wouldn't and couldn't work as well as I once had, so I fought all the time to make it matter. I think things are better with a lot of sweat and a little blood on it--preferably more of theirs than mine, of course, but nice and wet and fought for.
